Time for a Non-Dynasty to Have a Turn
21 Apr 2008

Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton has long run on the message that her many years in Washington, including the time when she served as First Lady, leave her better equipped to be President herself. Using the spouse to campaign and offer a step up is nothing new in the Clinton family—when Mr. Clinton ran for President in 1992 he campaigned with the message that America would get "two for one," in other words that Ms. Clinton would be an influential force in the White House. Isn't it time, however, that Ms. Clinton gave another family a chance? There are over 140 million people over the age of 35 living in the United States today; shouldn't the pool for our President be widened a bit?

Legacies are not unfamiliar to U.S. Politics. Unfortunately, the second of a dynasty rarely acts as well as the first. John Adams was an important statesman, a driving force for the independence of the Colonies, and an important architect of the Constitution. His son, John Quincy Adams, although respected as a statesman before his presidency and a designer of the Monroe Doctrine, as president failed to accomplish much in the way of foreign policy and enacted high protective tariffs that damaged the importation business and as a result damaged exports as well. He was defeated after only one term by Andrew Jackson. Although George H.W. Bush's presidency was hardly flawless, it was certainly much better than the current presidency of his son, George W. Bush, who has sought to continue failed policies of his father with devastating results. Our country fought for independence to free ourselves from dynasties, and the United States can not fall prey to the idea that just because someone is a legacy means that they have the skills and intellect to run one of the most powerful countries in the world. Ms. Clinton should step aside and let in those who are running because they believe they can make change, not because they believe it is their turn.

Hillary shouldn't step aside to let in others. Obama believes its his turn, not Hillary. Ohio and PA have slowed Obama's momentum. Now voters, especially first-time voters, have time to research all candidates. Do you want a president who believes that Americans must fix their "broken souls" before America can solve its problems?
April 22, 2008, Obama the Savior By Caroline Glick
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2008/04/obama_the_savior.html

Speaking in February of the man she knows better than anyone else does, Michelle Obama said that her husband, Illinois Senator and candidate for the Democratic Presidential nomination Barack Obama, is the only candidate for president who understands that before America can solve its problems, Americans have to fix their "broken souls." She also said that her husband's unique understanding of the state of souls of the American people makes him uniquely qualified to be President. Obama can do what his opponent in the Democratic race Senator Hillary Clinton, and Senator John McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, cannot do. He can heal his countrymen's broken souls. He will redeem them.

Here's more from the article I mentioned in my comment above.

The basic idea of liberty is that people have a natural right to live their lives as usual and to be uninvolved and uninformed. And they certainly have a right to expect that their government will butt out of their souls.

IN CONTRAST, fascist societies, as Jonah Goldberg notes in the latest issue of National Review, are all about the notions of "unity" and "change" and melding our broken souls into a fixed, united will for change that Obama has made the core theme of his campaign. Goldberg compared "unity" with "patriotism," and explained that while the latter connotes the willingness to defend the moral values of a society, unity is bereft of any moral content. "The only value of unity is strength, strength in numbers - and... that is a fascist value. That's the symbolism of the fasces, the bundle of sticks that in combination are invincible."

OBAMA IS A FRAUD.
BACKGROUND ON SEN. OBAMA'S DAY IN NEW YORK:
Last Monday, the Obama campaign responded to Hillary unveiling a comprehensive plan to deal with the housing crisis by attacking her for taking contributions connected to subprime lenders. Campaign manager David Plouffe said: "If we're really going to crack down on the practices that caused the credit and housing crises, we're going to need a leader who doesn't owe those industries any favors."
As it turns out, those were just words... Today, Senator Obama gives an economy speech followed by a fundraiser at - you guessed it - one of the top 10 issuers of subprime loans in America, Credit Suisse. In fact, Senator Obama has taken more money from the top 10 issuers of subprime loans than BOTH Senator Clinton and Senator McCain [cq.com].
- Obama has taken $1,180,103 from the top issuers of subprime loans. [cq.com]
- Obama received $266,907 from Lehman. [Cq.com]
- Obama received $5395 from GMAC. [Cq.com]
- Obama received $150,850 from Credit Suisse First Boston. [Cq.com]
- Obama received $11,250 from Countrywide. [Cq.com]
- Obama received $9052 from Washington Mutual. [Cq.com]
- Obama received $161,850 from Citigroup. [Cq.com]
- Obama received $4600 from CBASS. [Cq.com]
- Obama received $170,050 from Morgan Stanley. [Cq.com]
- Obama received $1150 from Centex. [Cq.com]
- Obama received $351,900 from Goldman Sachs. [Cq.com]

Your information is very misleading, and, furthermore, your comment does not address the article. Obama has received more than Clinton from commercial banks by less than $10,000, and Clinton is far ahead of donations from special interest groups in many categories, including insurance, law firms, oil and gas, real estate, tobacco, the gaming industry, and HMO's. Clinton has also received over $1 million from PACs, while Obama has received all of $250, and Hillary Clinton has a disclosure rate of less than 90%. To cap it all off, Hillary Clinton has been financed by industry contributions (bundling, etc) 10% more than Barack Obama has, meaning while Obama has been financed 60% by industry, Clinton has been financed 70%. He's received less money from industry total, not even a percentage, then Clinton has even though he's raised over 24.6 million more dollars than she has. So if you want to know who's really financed by the people, you'll see it's Barack Obama over Clinton by a wide margin.

Colin Powell made the case against Iraq based upon Military Intelligence, especially Satellite Intelligence, indicating Mobile Weapons of Mass Destruction. Since Iraq was under Sanction and Probation, and the Weapon Inspectors were given the run around by Saddam. Saddam Hussein, bluffed to have Weapons, and pretended to have Weapons of Mass Destruction , because he wouldnot follow the Rules of The International Court. George W. Bush Jr. Declared War on Iraq, based upon Weak Intelligence, on his own. Neither Congress nor Hillary Clinton voted for a War ,they voted that Iraq wasnot following the Rules... George W. Bush Jr. ,also, was to finish what his father George H. Bush Sr. started. Hillary Rodham has been against Wars since engaging in Anti Vietnam War Rallys back in the 60's. Today she has formed a Military Coalition to end the Iraqi War, responsibly, and bring our soldiers home. She also have the Military Backing, and Know- How to continue fighting the War On Terror in Afghanistan. This time, under her Administration, our Troops in Afghanistan will have the proper Armor and Equipment to Win The War on Terror.

According to Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton Biography, "A WOMAN IN CHARGE", she was first introduced to Civil Rights at the age of 15. It was then she attended a Civil Rights Rally by the late great Rev. Dr. Martin L. King Jr., in 1962. She even met him in person after the rally. While, also, still in high school she was a babysitter for Immigrant Workers , who worked the field... In 1965 she integrated an all white church in Wellesley Massachusetts. It was a stir!!! In 1966, after becoming President of the Wellesley College Student Union she was able to negotiate, with college staff, about increasing the black student enrollments and the black faculty jobs. She was proud to say that the black student population went from 10 to more than 100 in 1969. In 1969 she graduated from Wellesley College and was a Spokesperson at her Graduation. She was then labeled by Life Magazine as on her way to becoming a political meteor. It was also ,about this time, that she was involved in both Civil Rights and Anti Vietnam War Rallys. After Graduation from Wellesley, she had the option of attending Harvard or Yale Law School. Since Harvard didnot support Women Rights, she went to Yale Law School. Today, it still haunts her that she had participated in an on campus rally, and approximately several days later on another campus there was the Kent State Massacre.

We do not need Barack and Michelle Obama to "heal our broken souls". You've got to be kidding me??

Obama is not being honest about receiving money from energy companies. No candidate is allowed to take it directly because it is illegal. But he has skirted the legality through bundling etc.

Obama is not change like he claims. He has fooled many people into believing he is some kind of magical person. He isn't. He is a human being like the rest of us. All I can say is anyone who would sit in Rev. Wrights church for 20 years and listen to racist, hateful and anti American sermons while the Reverend simulated gyrating hip movements, is not fit to be President of the US.

Change vs Experience - Hope and Change -
I am a senior citizen - African American and for those that have been told that there was no way to obtgain their dreams and that it was hopeless look to HILLAY CLINTON as a symbolic figure.
Obamas change is just a word - change old Washington politics - he accepts endorsements from old politicans such as Kennedy, Kerry and many many others.
Hope - well let me tell you for decades I have watched the Clintons give hope to the black communities with homeless shelters and job assistance from California to Mississippi. Bill went to New Orleans with Brad Pitt to help with reconstruction there of that wonderful city - Hillary even attended a rally even though the voters did not help her there - Obama was too busy with his campaign - guess he already got the votes.

Her hope is for all ages - from health care for the elderly to student loans for the college kids.

I hope that North Carolina shows the rest of the country that we are for HOPE - (I can only hope that my brothers and sisters vote with their hearts and conscience and not for color).

GOD BLESS OUR AMERICA

Barack Obama is scared to debate Hillary Clinton. He knows his policies aren't as good as hers when you put them side by side, that's why he refuses to debate with her.
